python-ipaddr software package provides Python module for working with IP addresses, both IPv4 and IPv6, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-ipaddr
python-ipaddr is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-ipaddr package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-ipaddr *
You will get with python-ipaddr package name, version, architecture and description in a table
